Matthew 5

1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

I’m so happy with the peace that I can feel in our church. Over the course of 54 years, we can reflect on the ups and downs in our church. Even remembering as a young boy all the great miracles of the Lord and how we have seen God move. What has happened lately though in the last few months is the blessing not only of salvation, healings and miracles but the peace in the services that we can feel.
The services where the peace of God comes in and the people just don’t want to leave. That makes me as a minister so thankful that you all come in praising the Lord and allowing the Spirit to move. When the Spirit moves, it is not always shouting; sometimes it is just sitting, raising your hands, praising the Lord or just crying.

There are things I’m learning as I get older. I try to hesitate and wait until people are through praying and so forth until I bring the Word. The reason I’m doing that is because there is nothing more important than Jesus Christ and His Word. We are going to shout and praise the Lord at times, but when we read and preach His Word we should listen to it. Let’s listen and reverence God’s Word. I give you time to pray and rejoice because I love it. It’s awesome for me to stand before you and look back and see people with their hands raised, praising God; pressing forward and trying your best to serve the Lord.

Read the Sermon on the Mount and all of chapter 5. You’ve heard the acronym KISS – keep it simple stupid. I’m a simple person; a meat, taters, hot fudge cake and hot coffee man. This chapter is simple like that. This Word will raise you up and lift you up. It will cause you to laugh and to cry. It will cause your spirit to grow. That’s what I want in our church – keep on growing. We haven’t reached the steps yet that I believe God wants for our church but I think we are going to get there. I see the determination in you all to do it.

All the strides we have made in the last three years have been awesome. We are shifting it into high gear and it is all because you all have decided to praise the Lord and seek Him. Those who worship the Lord must worship Him in Spirit and truth. Truth is the Word of God and the Word of God is Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

It is a joy serving God. Invite sinners out to the church and God will save them.

Have a great month and God Bless
